Dr. Vishal Maharaj, a specialist physician, has recently opened a practice on the South Coast. Having begun with an interest in pharmacy, Dr. Maharaj soon decided to study internal medicine. Following his degree, he did his internships and community service at hospitals in Durban. He says, “As a specialist, one of my particular interests is in cardiology and I am happy to be settling here on the South Coast.”
As a father of 2 young sons, Dr. Maharaj says, “My wife and I are happy to come to this region which we feel is a better environment to raise our kids away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Our kids love living near the beach so it’s quite a treat for them. My wife is also a doctor and is currently working in the public sector.”
