Enlarged Hospital to meet growing South Coast healthcare needs

South Coast doctors and their patients will have expanded and improved facilities at their disposal when the current Hibiscus Private Hospital growth phase is complete. This well-known South Coast landmark is being developed into a much larger healthcare facility. Not only is the hospital growing upwards with the addition two new levels and 30 new beds – a 58% increase in capacity – but added space, new equipment and staff will greatly enhance the hospital’s ability to meet the growing needs of the community.

Hibiscus Private Hospital Executive Managing Director Richard Mills is enthusiastic about the development and what it will offer to the region. He says, “We often operate at capacity now and we need to grow. Our goal in the expansion is to put up a facility that all of us can be proud of and where both doctors and patients can continue to be confident about our medical care excellence.

“We're putting in a brand new maternity ward which will have new functions and features. Our new paediatric, medical and ICU wards will also be much larger. There will be one additional theatre for surgery and we have applied for yet another theatre licence, which, in future would make four theatres in total.

“Hibiscus Radiology, our X-ray facility, is going to be enlarged and Dr. Khan will be offering other services, including bone densitometry. Our hospital pharmacy is also going to be more spacious. It's not just the 30 beds we are adding now in accordance with our licence, but we will have the built-in capacity for future additional beds within our expanded infrastructure. Three lifts will expedite logistics in our expanded hospital. Our lift system will also provide service to the up-most, or third storey, which will be a parking level for the convenience of our patients and their visitors.
