Administrative Manager

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • To manage the Hospital’s administrative function including Debtors, Admissions and Case Management, and to ensure that all policies are complied with, and that all related administrative matters are appropriately dealt with according to internal policies.

Education, experience and competencies required:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospital administrative policies and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Medical Aid plans, tariffs and coding
  • Analytical approach to compiling reports
  • Managerial/Supervisory experience in a corporate environment
  • Ability to maintain excellent standards and service levels
  • Customer service focus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Problem solving and above average analytical skills
  • Integrity

Administrative management involves the following duties and responsibilities but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring that administrative functions are managed appropriately:
    • Managing Hospital Cash flow via controlling of the Non–Released list.
    • Producing reports to Hospital Management for control purposes
    • Overseeing the Debtors book relevant to adjustments,  discounts and bad debts
    • Overseeing of  Admissions and admissions processes
    • Overseeing of Case Management
    • Co-ordinate stock control and ordering of some Hospital consumables
    • Liaise with IT and Telecoms providers for faults and upgrades
    • Responsible for patient file maintenance and archiving
  • Supervision of Staff
    • Ensure adequate staffing and succession planning, Debtors,Confirmations etc.
    • Managing performance areas of subordinates
    • Actively promoting the development of subordinates competence at all levels
    • Web register

 Maintaining standards:

  • Constantly monitoring and promoting exceptional operational and departmental standards
  • Maintain a professional office environment
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant statutes, statutory bodies, rules and regulations
